Problems with Xporter X550

have just purchased a Patriot Xporter X550 1TB flash drive and I'm having problems. I am using the drive primarily to store a library of movies as video files.

When I create a folder, I am unable to delete that folder. Nothing works for this.

When I attempt to transfer a file from my laptop hard drive, the process always just hangs. I have to cancel, remove the drive, insert it and try again. It usually works on this second attempt.

The Windows 'check and find errors' disc tools don't work on the drive. Trying to check the drive causes everything to lock up and the only way out is to restart the laptop.

I've tried checking for errors and bad sectors on the drive by bypassing the Windows tools and using the command prompt, but after ten hours, nothing happened.

Do you have any suggestions for me?
